But I feel like in my work setting, swapping between Tasks(To-Do) and Planner just isn't ideal when trying to actually plan what my team needs to do (who are almost entirely only using our 365 services solely on smartphones). The sharing works great.Īnd I use it for keeping track of some personal tasks at work, and that works fine. We use it for general tasks and grocery shopping. I use To-Do a lot for personal stuff and love it.

So anyways - what are your thoughts on the overlap of Tasks, Planner, Lists, and Project? What are you doing for your front line workers with minimal subscription tiers? Comments aren't even easily accessible or viewable on phone form factors in Lists for example! And some of the announcements are reserved for tablet users sometimeinthefuture. But there seems to be increasing levels of overlap in what Lists is being shown to do vs Tasks, Planner, Outlook Calendars, etc.Īnd on the mobile end, Lists is just not there for strictly mobile (front line) tasks/workers that Microsoft have been hailing as this huge market for the last few years of events. Microsoft Lists definitely seems to be taking the spotlight and is looking to be the catch-all for any real tracking, task, and calendar system. I think we have rich text support and recurring tasks coming soon soon soon And there have been hardly any real enhancements to it in the last year or so. Planner as it stands is already incredibly bare bones.

I think there was one other new api announcement in sown other session for Planner. That session basically showed nothing new at all for Planner beyond some new upsells to Project. I had a much longer post typed up yesterday but decided not to post it.Īfter watching one of the Ignite 2022 sessions last night (Embrace a new way of work with Microsoft 365), I continue to question and wonder about the future of Microsoft Planner - specifically tracking and managing stuff.
